How to searchThere are three main ways you can search for assets in the Asset Library: quick search, filter search, and collections. Or you can use a combination of these to refine your results. Please note, you will only be able to search our Asset Library if you have registered with us. Quick search bar To search, just type a word or phrase into the search bar. Suggested search terms will appear. You can click on one of these, or just select the magnifying glass or press enter to search on the term you’ve typed. To see all assets, leave the search box blank and just select the magnifying glass or press enter, or select ‘Asset Library’ from the top left of the screen. The Asset Library search engine will look for the search term in descriptions, location fields, keywords, and asset IDs. Assets are tagged from a controlled list of predefined terms to ensure accurate and consistent search results. The search results will load. You can further refine your results by typing additional search terms (separated by a space) into the search bar. If you want to search on an exact word or phrase (two or more words together) place it between double-quotation marks. To reset the search, select the cross on the right-hand side of the search bar.
Filter search
Select ‘Asset Library’ from the top left of the screen. You can then use the filter bar on the left hand side of the screen to narrow down your selection of assets. You can combine multiple filters for more accurate results.
The filters use a list of predefined terms in different fields to help you refine your results.
Filters include asset type; orientation; popular cities; nation; region; setting; people; food and drink; activities; concept; and file size. If you choose multiple keywords within a single filter this will broaden your results.
When you apply a filter your search results will automatically display the results. To remove a filter, untick the appropriate box or click the ‘clear filter’ arrow. If you’ve applied multiple filters, click applied filters at the top of the filter bar and then select clear all.
Collections You can browse a selection of featured collections underneath the quick search bar on the Asset Library homepage.
You can refine your results within a collection by using the filter bar on the left-hand side of the screen.
Other ways to search
When you click into an asset there are two additional options that will help you find other assets in the library.
The conceptually similar box will show assets that are similar to the one that you’ve clicked in to. The similar tones section will show assets with a similar colour palette to the one you’ve selected – you can choose to view all assets with a similar overall tone, or can pick a specific tone from the colour bar.
Search results display You can use the view and sort dropdown on the top right of the Asset Library page to sort your results. The system will default to showing you the newest assets first, but you can choose from a number of other options. This same dropdown allows you to toggle between seeing your results in a small, medium or large grid view – the default is medium. You can also view results in a table.
